Fluff on a Mission: Baby Plover at Sunrise!

A New Day Begins

A baby plover stirs every sunrise. The darkness in the sky turns to light, just how your life is waking up. The baby plover, so tiny and downy he hardly seems realHead-on sees a little cotton ball with iridescent feathers that sparkle in the morning sunlight. It is a big day for this little birdie today!

The Search for Food

The baby plover are soofamished when it wakes up. It jumped out of the nest and began foraging. The sound of gentle waves fills the quiet beach. The baby plover walks on the sand, foraging like little insects and tiny morsels of food. Its little legs pumped fast as it darted back and forth, seeking food to forage.

A Special Mission

The baby needs to find lots of food so one day it, too, will be strong. The sun is stretching a little taller now and the baby needs to be slow. There are a load of dangers: big birds flying above, people walking on the beach,… The life of the tiny plover is at risk from these predators all day everyday.

Learning to Fly

While searching for food, the little plover also practices flying. He flutters his delicate wings, hoping they were enough to rise off the ground. Occasionally it bounces, appears to hover landing again in the sand. The baby plover slowly gets better every time.

A Day of Adventure

The plover fledgling goes on with her adventure down the beach. It encounters other young birds observing them at play. They run toward the waves and dig into sand with hot sun on their faces. The do nothing day of exploring.

Home Sweet Home

The baby plover goes back to their nest as the sun starts to set. It was tired but happy after a full day of romping. The birdie curls with its others, surrounded by happy warmth. And there will be another day of fun and learning (and food) to come tomorrow but for now, I must sleep.
