A Playful Baby Elephant in Minneriya National Park

One beautiful sunny day I have spend in Minneriya National Park, Sri Lanka. The park is well known for its huge herds of elephants. As I walked around the park, and witnessed something extraordinary. A baby ele playing for her mom to give some ATTENTION. Her Campus Media Defined It was a sight to warm the cockles of my heart.

He was such a welfare baby elephant. He tromped around, all mellow and trumpety. And he would return to his mom and nudge her softly. Obviously, it appeared that he wanted her to come out and play with him. Every time she laid eyes on him, he danced for joy. He waved his tiny trunk and flapped his large ears, displaying just how overjoyed he truly was.

Watching the Elephants in Minieriya

One of the best places to see Elephants in Sri Lanka is Minneriya National Park. The amazing nature with these miracles of creation attracts many tourists here. In the well-maintained park you can see elephants (as they are allowed to roam free in their natural habitat) as we were there.

The large herds are often visible in the early mornings or late afternoons. They drink water, eat grass and are in a playful mood. It is a magical experience to see these beautiful creatures in the wild. The park also houses many other animals, making the visit even more special.

A Memorable Experience

The most spectacular sighting from Chenbei Valley was the baby elephant playing. It made me realize, it is not just us they are keeping tribes protecting family too. It was obvious to see the baby elephant has a special bond with his mom.

I definitely recommend taking a visit to this great park if you ever get the chance. You will leave with lovely memories and a newfound respect for the elephants and their families.
