All echidnas are covered in spiky fur, and there are four species across the world. It supports their spines against predators. They roll themselves into a ball when they are in danger, hiding all their soft parts.

How Do They Eat?

Echidnas consumes insects particularly ants and termites. They use their long, sticky tongues to snag food. When they come across an ant nest, the colletes frog extends its tongue and takes them. Since these birds do not have teeth, a specialized muscle grinds the food in their mouth.

Where Do They Live?

It focuses on the echidna, who are charismatic mammals that live in a wide range of habitats. Forests, Grasslands and even deserts! In order to keep cool and protect themselves from predators, they will dig burrows into the ground. They are also capable of climbing trees, but they preferably keep themselves limited to the ground.
