Then it saw a simply ripe strawberry lying on the ground. Though the snake had never before experienced fruit, a sense of curiosity overwhelmed him. That quick, smooth motion engulfed the mouse. Time To Enjoy A Hearty Breakfast!
Hiding from Danger
The grass snake also began to understand that when the sun was as up high in the sky it must know ways of being unharmed. The birds flew over them, screeching in search of food. Before long the snake quickly disappeared beneath some leaves. It felt secure there. It watched animals passing by as it waited. A rabbit scampered by, and a butterfly flitted around. The garden’s bonanza of bird life is like a box set to the grass snake.
End of the Day
The grass snake was weary as the sun set. to slow for rest in gentle quarters. That had been a day of adventures and the hour to sleep. The grass snake crumpled its eyes close in the sun to dream of more fun for tomorrow. Our intrepid grass snake lived to crawl through vegetation another day.
